In a landmark judgement Supreme Court validated the Demonetisation by Narendra Modi government after six years.They found that there’s no illegality in the act though it’s was a political decision. Infact it was a phenomenal decision by Prime Minister Narendra Modi who announced demonetisation to come into effect abruptly considering the money laundering activities and counterfeit currency circulation and with an intention to cleanse the economy. Only a strong leader like Narendra modi can take this decision and this has curtailed the hawala trade to a large extent and also the influx of black money into the system.since demonetisation heralded new payment system and our economy has become cashless to a large extent and the ease of doing transactions by using one’s mobile phone has revolutionised Indian economy and paved way for many small and medium businesses strengthening the Indian economy. it’s great to see supreme court upheld demonetisation as its evident it has not done any harm to the economy though it wasn’t mooted by reserve bank of india but a bold political move to cleanse the system.
