Island nation Sri Lanka .Sri Lanka is ideal because of its proximity to India and the travel costs are within my limits. .Moreover Sri Lanka were in the limelight because of the regime change after great unrest in the nation due to economic mismanagement and subsequent dethronement of Gottabaya government. The new regime under Anura Kumara Disssanayake and deputy Harini Amara Suriya paved the way for more friendly relations with India and the restrictions ro the strife torn jaffna peninsula were removed and tourists are allowed to visit this area.Alongwith this the traditional Ramayana Trails got prominence since the consecration of Ayodha Rama temple in India and the epic Ramayana came into the fore and srilankan government's initiative to preserve the Sita Amman Temple and Rampoda along with Hanuman Temple resulted in the surge of pilgrim tours to these Heritage sites authorised by Unesco. one can see the vestiges of the bygone era relics and feel it real.Though I didnt get a chance to visit these places I would find time next time .I was mostly in the city limits of colombo since i was put up there .My visit was purely to see the sinhala culture in and around the city alongwith the tamil settlers As soon as I reached colombo I was given a pamphlet about the UPI being introduced in Sri Lanka with Lanka QR.it was a suprise as we got used to UPI here in India and the Lanka QR was used rarely since credit card without narkup fee was accepted everywhere.UPI payment will help us to get more value for our money against Lankan Rupee and this would come in handy since we dont have to carry cash for change which may incur some charges if we exchange it .most of the Migrant labourers fron different parts of India and south asian regions would benefit from this UPI system .only thing is that they have to ask for it in some places.
I was landed in Sri Lanka on the auspicious puja festival and I visited new kathiresan temple in the city on the vijayadashami day which symbolfies the victory of good over the evil.
